The Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden, a 2.5-acre property in Palo Alto featuring herb and rose gardens and a historical house, has scheduled two events for children.
• November Second Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 10. Activities will include a nature hunt for critters with Garden Director Richard Hayden and Garden Guides, a worm measuring contest, crafts and tours of the Gamble Garden House, built circa 1902. All ages are welcome, but the event is ideal for ages 3-10. Admission is free, but registration is required.

• “The Polar Express,” 10:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 1. Gamble Garden’s holiday extravaganza will feature crafts, hot cocoa, a magic show, treats and a short reading of “The Polar Express” book by Santa. Children should wear their pajamas. Designed for ages 2-12. Tickets are $20 for child members, $30 for nonmembers; $10 for adult members, $20 for adult nonmembers. Subject to availability, tickets will be $35 for all ages on the day of the event.
