Filoli sponsors annual autumn festival

Filoli, a National Trust for Historic Preservation site, has scheduled its annual Autumn at Filoli Festival 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday on its property at 86 Cañada Road in Woodside.

The fundraiser features activities for all ages, including live music, docent-led nature hikes, “Happy Birds” shows, autumnal art projects, puppet and magic shows, face painting and a supervised “Family Fun Land” of outdoor games and activities for children.

Throughout the day, docents will lead tours of Filoli’s historical orchard, which contains more than 650 varieties of heirloom fruit. The estate will offer fruit tasting of rare heirloom pears, apples and grapes from Filoli’s orchard.

Barbecue and vegetarian lunches are available by advance purchase for $16; children’s lunches are $9.

Admission is $20 for members, $25 for nonmembers, $5 for children 5-17 and free for children under 4. A limited number of tickets are available due to space constraints. Visitors are encouraged to carpool to the event. Parking is free.
