Wedding To Remember

Styling for the seasons: Following fashion trends of spring and summer

Attention to the waistline is one of the trends of the season. High-waisted trousers and pencil skirts with belts are definitely in.

Dresses are popular in different lengths and shapes. Minidresses of the 1960s are back in style, as are babydoll dresses, shift dresses, halter dresses and smocked and kimono dresses.

You will see a lot of black and white, solids, florals and geometric patterns. Earthy tones are in. All shades of gray work, and you can wear them in different textures. Ivory, sand, taupe and cocoa with a touch of light blue, peach or soft rose are among some of the colors we see on the runway this season.

Empire-waist tops, the peasant look, lace, chiffon and ruffles are among other looks that are popular.

Long and wide pants are in again, but we still have our skinny jeans or cigarette pants to alternate with.

In accessories, jewelry is bold and big, chains and beads can be worn layered and big rings are the rage. Belts are wide, skinny and patent leather. Bags are large and scrunchy.

Shoes are fun this season. Peekaboo pumps and flats, wedges, platforms and stilettos are in style. Popular colors are gold, silver and bronze, the new neutrals for day and night this season. Metallic shoes and bags mix great with warm-weather looks.

To sum up, my favorite trends for spring and summer are: skinny jeans, big rings, minidresses, wide-leg pants, pencil skirts, peekaboo pumps and anything in a metallic color.

Happy shopping.
