Senior Briefs: the week of March 20

Senior Expo scheduled Friday

The Los Altos/Los Altos Hills Senior Commission and the Rotary Club of Los Altos’ Partners for Elder Generations have scheduled a free senior expo, “Let’s Get Engaged,” 2-5 p.m. Friday at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road.

The program will feature a variety of local volunteer and service organizations with the theme of engaging seniors in the community.

The Los Altos Senior Program, the cities of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, the Senior Inclusion and Participation Project, the Center for Age-Friendly Excellence, Friends of the Los Altos Library, Mentor Tutor Connection and Clear Captions are among the groups that will be represented. Former Santa Clara County principal planner Don Weden will speak on staying engaged.

Fling into spring

The Los Altos/Los Altos Hills Senior Commission and Club 55 have scheduled the second Senior Spring Fling 6-8:30 p.m. April 5 at the Shoup Park Garden House, 400 University Ave.

The casual event will feature music, mingling, dancing, singing and refreshments.

Tickets – $12 for Senior Program members, $15 for nonmembers – must be purchased by March 29.
