Working under pressure to solve Subaru Forester's shut-off problem

Last month we had a relatively new customer tow in his 2008 Subaru Forester XT 2.5 Turbo. He said the car shut off while he was driving it.

For more than three decades, BMW has set the mark in high-performance sports sedans with its M3. Nearly every other automobile manufacturer has aspired to match it, and most have failed.

The Lexus GS F has a base price of $84,350, which includes ample safety and convenience features.

The new-for-2018 Lexus GS F is the Japanese luxury automaker’s entry into the crowded and competitive high-performance sports sedan marketplace, already populated by well-known cars from Mercedes-AMG, Audi and BMW. The Andersons had a split judgment on this automobile.

Seeing the light on troubling Subaru Forester

A customer called last month and said it felt like the transmission in his 2005 Subaru Forester (2.5-liter engine) was slipping under acceleration.

He said the check-engine light wasn’t on and that the problem was intermittent, but he could feel it when he was getting on the freeway or taking off from a stop.

Vehicles for all occasions

Like Hyundai’s other vehicles, the 2018 Santa Fe, above, comes with the best warranty and buyers coverage in the auto market.

For our money, the most practical all-around vehicle on the road today is the mid-sized utility crossover. These workhorses can carry five passengers or a full load of cargo on slick highways as well as unpaved back roads while delivering reasonable fuel efficiency.

A wide range of choices are available in this highly competitive market segment, selling with all desirable comfort and safety accessories, for a total price comfortably under $40,000.
