Facing a fluid situation

I have written several articles on the importance of scheduled maintenance, such as making sure to stay up to date with fluid intervals and filters. Failure to perform these basic services and have them performed by a qualified shop can only cost you money and headaches in the long run.

Last week we had a new customer come in with his 2007 Lexus IS 250. The customer said he had just purchased the car and after driving it only 50 miles, the check engine light came on. What he did not realize is that the previous owner did not have quality maintenance performed.

The Andersons recently drove the new Chrysler 300S to Danville’s Blackhawk Museum, where they saw “The Spirit of the Old West” exhibition.

When you have a press car as rooted in automotive history as the Chrysler 300S – it’s a direct descendant of the original Chrysler 300, known as the “world’s fastest stock car” in 1955 – it’s only appropriate to take a trip back in time.

The 2017 Lexus GS350 sports a robust V6 engine (311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque), along with excellent handling.

The sporty 2017 Lexus GS350 with the F Sport upgrade isn’t going to cause car manufacturers in Germany to lose any sleep, and Cadillac and Jaguar executives can rest easy as well.

Taking an idle from wild to mild

Last week a customer brought in her 2002 Mazda Protege5. The car came in for basic maintenance (85,000-mile service), but the customer noted that the vehicle suffered a rough idle at stoplights when warm.

Sport-utility vehicles make up perhaps the broadest spectrum in the automobile marketplace.

Hyundai takes it up a notch

Toyota – a brand known for being practical and economical – introduced the Lexus 30 years ago, an unabashedly luxurious brand intended to compete not only with Lincoln and Cadillac, but also with BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

The Genesis G80 is part of Hyundai’s new luxury brand. It may be ordered with a V-8 or V-6 engine; the former has 420 horsepower.

Now Hyundai is seeking to do the same thing with its new brand Genesis.
