Youth encouraged to create mosaic tiles for new Teen Center

The city of Mountain View’s Recreation Department is recruiting youth to participate in designing and creating a mosaic-tile art piece for the new Mountain View Teen Center, scheduled to open in the fall.

Three events are scheduled for young artists to express their creativity and assist with the project.

• Youth can brainstorm ideas with artist Leslie Scott 5-7 p.m. May 9 at the Mountain View Senior Center, 266 Escuela Ave.

• Participants will then create the mosaic tiles from scratch 2-5 p.m. May 10 at the Senior Center.

• The Recreation Department has scheduled a Summer Art Camp 4:30-8:30 p.m. July 21-25 at the Senior Center, at which teens can continue to make and paint tiles, then piece them together for the final display.

Admission to all events is free and open to youth in grades 6-12.

To RSVP for any of the projects, visit viewteencenterartproject.eventbrite.com.
