The Mountain View-based Music for Minors has launched an education partnership with Chanticleer, the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble from San Francisco.
The two groups plan to collaborate on programs and activities throughout the coming year.
For more than 35 years, Music for Minors, founded in Los Altos, worked in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties to provide music education programs in elementary schools.
Reaching 17,000 students annually, the nonprofit organization partners with individual schools as well as districts to tailor the best solutions to the challenge of providing comprehensive and affordable music education.
“We are deeply honored to partner with Chanticleer,” said Sonja Palmer, Music for Minors executive director. “They set the standard for music presented and performed at the highest level of professionalism.”
Christine Bullin, Chanticleer’s president and general director, said Chanticleer is “very happy” to join forces with an “exemplary” organization to address the needs of young people, who will benefit throughout their lives from early exposure to music.
“Music for Minors and Chanticleer are united in the belief that nurturing a love of music has lifelong benefits for enriching the quality of life for individuals as well as the larger community,” Palmer said.
Music for Minors is a recipient of the Town Crier Holiday Fund.
