St. Simon Parish School in Los Altos recently received recognition as a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School.
The pre-K to eighth-grade school received the award for being an Exemplary High Performing School, which means its students placed in the top 15% for English language arts and mathematics as measured by state assessments or national tests.
St. Simon is one of 28 public and private elementary, middle and high schools in California and 325 schools nationwide that earned the distinction this year. This is the second time the school has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.
St. Simon principal Ann Kozlovsky said she is proud of the students, faculty and parents for their hard work.
“The last 18 months have been a difficult time during which our entire community has demonstrated incredible determination and resilience to provide an outstanding education for our children,” Kozlovsky said in a press release.
Father Brendan McGuire, pastor at St. Simon Parish, said the recognition is testament to the dedication of the administration, teachers and the support of families and the community.
The U.S. Department of Education will formally recognize the Blue Ribbon Schools at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. in November.
