The MVLA Parent Education Speaker Series kicks off later this month with a focus on paying for higher education. Ron Lieber is scheduled to speak 7 p.m. Sept. 28 on “The Price You Pay for College: An Entirely New Road Map.”
Lieber, an author and writer/editor for The New York Times’ “Your Money” column, appears again 7 p.m. Sept. 30 for “The Opposite of Spoiled: Raising Kids Who are Grounded, Generous and Smart About Money.” Lieber will lay out an approach to talking with children about money and explain how to use a family’s relationship with money as an effective tool to teach values such as modesty, generosity, patience, gratitude and grit.
The free, online events are open to all but primarily intended for parents and staff of the Mountain View and Los Altos public school community. Event sponsors include the MVLA High School Foundation, the Los Altos Educational Foundation, the Los Altos-Mountain View PTA Council and the Mountain View Educational Foundation.
