Pedestrian struck by car in downtown Los Altos

A pedestrian sustained moderate injuries after being hit by a car last month in the crosswalk where San Antonio Road meets Main Street, just outside Enchanté Boutique Hotel, according to the Los Altos Police Department.

At approximately 2:18 p.m. Feb. 18, a vehicle traveling through the intersection struck the pedestrian, who was transported to an area hospital. Police said the driver stayed on scene to cooperate with the first steps of their investigation.

Following warring narratives about who was involved in the incident and who was at fault unfolding on the neighborhood platform Nextdoor, Los Altos Police Capt. Katie Krauss said she could not disclose the names or other identifying details about the individuals involved.

The Town Crier was unable to obtain information on the incident until last week.

Krauss said that the incident will not be brought forward to the District Attorney’s Office for litigation.
