Mr. Johnson

NOTE: This story has been updated to include details of the memorial service.

Robert “Bob” Johnson, the gentlemanly three-time mayor of Los Altos Hills, died Jan. 30 after a long illness. He was 92.

An accomplished scientist as well as versed in the arts, Mr. Johnson appropriately wore the title “Renaissance man” among those who knew him. Articulate, sophisticated and possessing a wry wit, friends and family described a congenial spirit who cared for and enjoyed people, and never talked down to them.
