Ronald William Brown fixed 040319 onlineRonald William BROWN, born April 9, 1926 in Teulon, Manitoba, Canada passed away on March 15th, 2019 in Moraga, CA at age 92. Ronald was raised on a 320-acre grain farm in Teulon, which he took over from his parents when he married his high school sweetheart, Frances, at age 21. The two started their family there, and 10 years later, sold the farm and moved to northern California with three young children. They lived in Palo Alto and Mountain View, where they added two more children, before eventually settling in Los Altos. Ronald and Frances owned and operated property rental businesses in the Bay Area for nearly 35 years, until her passing in 1992. In his later years, Ronald enjoyed golfing, traveling and spending time in Sunriver OR and Tucson AZ.

Dr. Philip “Phil” Hordiner

Dr. Philip Hordiner 040319 online.jpeg he is the one in middle crop outAccomplished and innovative dentist, Dr. Philip “Phil” Hordiner passed away peacefully in his sleep at 2 AM Friday, March 15th at his Los Altos, California home. He was 86 years old. Phil is survived by his daughter Kim Hunter, son-in-law Larry Gordon, grandson Jordan Etem, and his brothers Dr. Michael Leonard and Charles Hordiner. Much loved by his family, professional staff, and patients, Phil was born October 31, 1932 in Flushing New York, the eldest son of Esther and Nathan Hordiner. He received his formal education at the University of Arizona, Tucson and Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago. He arrived in San Francisco in 1958, opened his own dental practice in The City in 1960 before retiring 40 years later.

Dr. Ashton Rose Nielson and Vincent Robert Grosso were married Jan. 25 in a small ceremony at the Grosso home in Saratoga.

The couple met as freshmen at St. Francis High School.

Scouting News: Troop 80 honors new Eagle Scout


Fitch

Local Boy Scout Troop 80 recently honored its latest Eagle Scout, Will Fitch.

Fitch was a Cub Scout in Pack 105 before he joined Troop 80. As a Scout, he backpacked, rock climbed and canoed throughout California, and camped out more than 175 nights. He served as patrol leader for four terms and as senior patrol leader for three terms.
