OBIT MarilynGerber

Marilyn Joyce Gerber, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 88. Marilyn was born in Portland, Oregon and lived there until her teen years when she moved with her family to Berkeley, California. She went on to attend University of California in Berkeley and, on December 27, 1948, she married Leland Kenneth Gerber. She remained in Los Altos, California, the remainder of her life.


OBIT JohnLivingston

John Roulston Livingston, 57, born on January 14, 1959, reposed with our Lord on November 12 at 1:19 pm after a long and arduous struggle with cancer. John received a B.S., Engineering, top class honors in engineering and applied sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point, an M.S., Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences from The George Washington University, and his MBA at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He served as a Platoon Leader in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He had a distinguished career, including 10 years at Cisco Systems followed by 6 years as Managing Director at Alderpoint Ventures. John was a loving husband to Olga Livingston for 16 years, and devoted father to his two children Elisabeth Roulston Livingston and Andrei Abraham Livingston.

1929 – 2016

Long time Los Altos resident, Joan I. Shine, died peacefully on September 23, 2016 at the age of 86 in Mountain View, California. Los Altos was her home for most of her life having raised her family there before moving to neighboring Mountain View. Joan was the youngest of Henry and Gertrude Baltz’s nine children and was born on November 27, 1929 in Beech Grove, Indiana. Just a few years later, her father’s job took the family to Indianapolis, Indiana where Joan lived throughout her youth, teenage years and until she got married in 1950.

July 10, 1934  – August 23, 2016
Resident of Los Altos

Mary Ann passed away peacefully at 82 in her home with her family after a brief illness. Mary Ann was born in San Francisco and spent her childhood enjoying the Bay Area. She attended Notre Dame Des Victoires High School. She married Sam Tallerico in May, 1955. They moved first to Sunnyvale and then to Los Altos as Sam worked for a number of well known high technology firms. Mary Ann worked as a medical technician before the birth of her daughter, Sandra Tallerico Levison.


OBIT ArlieJohnson

Arlie Jean Johnson, 92, of Los Altos, CA. died October 25, 2016. Arlie passed away at her home in Los Altos, CA in the supportive company of her daughter and son-in-law. Arlie lived in Los Altos for for more than 50 years. Daughter of John and Millie Johnson, born October 22, 1924 in Bellingham, Washington, Arlie grew up on a small farm during the Great Depression. After high school, Arlie obtaining a secretarial degree in Seattle Washington. Arlie was able to leave rural Washington and eventually found employment as a Purser for Pan Am Airlines. She became a sophisticated world traveler, living in England and then Germany for a few years and also Hong Kong.
