With great sadness but with fondest memories we commend Pete to his heavenly home. His wife Thelma, daughter Lynn and son-in-law Don McCulley, granddaughters Meagan and Erin, and many other friends and family will miss him, but with the consolation that he lived a long, productive and happy life.

James Fredrick Matthews lost his long and valiant battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on November 7th surrounded by loving family members at Gordon Manor, his care home in Redwood City. A resident of Los Altos since 1957, he was one of five children born to Helen and Arthur Matthews in South Bend, IN.

David Alan Brew, Ph.D., of Los Altos died after a short illness on November 7.

Dave was a scientist, geologist, passionate defender of our natural resources, world traveller, persistent golfer, avid reader, precise writer, and rigorous thinker. He was most at home in the mountains, hiking, trekking, skiing and always working. He felt the roots of family and history deeply, through his wife, four daughters and eight grandchildren, his extended family in the midwest, southwest and northeast, his brothers and parents. He could also pen an excellent haiku when pressed.

Palo Alto resident, Richard Arthur Bogard, passed away peacefully on October 25th, surrounded by the love of his wife, Iris, and his four daughters, Cindy, Kim, Sheri and Lori. He was 79 years old and will be deeply missed.

Janice Reynolds, 81, passed away peacefully in her Saratoga CA home, surrounded by her children.
