ADELL KASPAR

OBIT AdellKaspar edit

October 16, 1926 - December 9, 2017

Adell Kaspar, born Hannah Adell King, passed away on Dec. 9 at the age of 91. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Joseph Kaspar, and her six children: Charles (Bonnie) Kaspar, Jeannie (Lloyd) Solomon, Susan Thompson, Karen (John) Hayden, Roger (Ruth) Kaspar, and Kathy Kaspar (Fred Konkel). She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Mary Kaspar.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 16, 1926, to Henry and Ella King, Adell attended elementary and junior high school in Utah, then moved to Arizona where she graduated from Phoenix High School. She met her husband, Joe Kaspar, while attending Phoenix Junior College. They were married on January 25, 1947. Joe and Adell made their home in Walnut Creek for 12 years before moving to Los Altos, where they have been residents for over 45 years.

A homemaker and an active member of the Los Altos Ward in the LDS Church, Adell volunteered for many activities, including girls’ sports coach, Relief Society homemaking leader, camp counselor and cook, and ward photographer. Adell traveled throughout the US with her husband on business. When Joe retired she then enjoyed extensive travel with him to many countries on six continents.

Warm, generous, and fun loving, Adell loved it most when surrounded by family and friends. Every occasion was celebrated with large family gatherings that included good food and lots of photos. She planned family reunions at the beach in the summer and in the mountains at Lake Tahoe in the winter. Going to Grandma’s house meant making candy, baking cookies, or eating waffles while talking with her in the kitchen. Adell truly loved the people in her life and was loved in return by all who knew her. The family formed by this love is her greatest legacy.

Private family services will be held. Remembrances may be sent to Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
