Norman Duane Stauffer

Norman Duane Stauffer online 051519June 7, 1929 - April 24, 2019 Norman Duane Stauffer passed away peacefully after a long illness on April 24, 2019 with his wife and daughter by his side. Duane is survived by his daughter Nancy Augliera, son-in-law John Augliera and his two grandsons Anthony and Jason Augliera. Duane is also survived by his wife Mary Lou Stauffer, stepsons Mark, Bruce, Ross, Dale and six step-grandchildren, Alissa, Megan, Amanda, Tyler, Dylan and Brett McCourt. Duane was pre-deceased by wife Carol and son Randy Stauffer, brother Hal Stauffer and sister Margie Frenette. Duane served his country for four years during the Korean War. After 33 years, he retired from Proctor and Gamble as the San Francisco District Manager in Bar Soap Household Cleaning Products Division. During his career he was President of the Sales Managers Club in San Francisco.

Duane was an active honorary lifetime member in "The Illuminators" of Food Chain (WAFC) and California Grocer Association (CGA). After retirement, Duane was a dedicated volunteer who developed the Early Literacy Program recruiting "retired" senior citizens in helping young school age children read at grade level. Duane was an avid S.F. Giants and 49er fan and especially loved following college football and basketball. He also enjoyed traveling. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Illuminator Scholarship Fund @ iefscholarships.com (Click on events link). There will be a Celebration of Life at noon on Saturday, June 8th at the Los Altos Methodist Church, followed by a lunch buffet at the Sheraton Palo Alto.
