Jerry Coe

Jerry Coe peacefully passed away on November 30. He was a loving family man and beloved grandfather who will be missed by his family, friends and retirement community. He had a great sense of humor, sweet nature and was very charismatic. Jerry was born in Michigan on January of 1929. This is where he met and married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Marilyn. Jerry was a handy guy who built his family’s first home before being deployed to the Korean War. There he became a Sergeant and worked as a forward observer on the front lines. After the war, Jerry became an art director for International Paper, and was transferred to the Bay Area in 1966. There he resided with his family and was an active member of United Methodist Church in Los Altos and enjoyed an active lifestyle. Jerry and his wife Marilyn shared a beautiful, true love marriage for 67 years.

Their bond has been an inspiration to those who spent time with them. During their marriage, Jerry was a strong role model to his children and wonderful husband. He led a rich and active life. He and Marilyn were very social, vacationing and playing cards with friends. He also enjoyed golf, tennis, hunting, fishing and camping. Jerry is survived by his two sons, Steve and his wife Cherie, and Dave and his wife Marlene. He had 4 grandchildren and two grand daughters-in-law: Lucas and his wife Jane, Travis and his wife Chelsea, Garrett and Brody. Jerry is also survived by his niece Pam, Nephews Bill and Mike and grandniece Meghan. A celebration of life service was held on January 12, 2019 at the Sunny View Bay Area Retirement Community in Cupertino CA.
