Missy Lutz

OBITS 110718 Missy Lutz onlinePassed away peacefully at Stanford Hospital on October 24th, 2018 at the age of 61, surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Missy was born on November 12th, 1956 in Palo Alto, California to Barbara and Dick Lutz, a fourth generation Californian. Missy grew up in Los Altos Hills, she attended Los Altos High,The University of Oregon and received a degree in Marketing at San Jose State. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. After graduation Missy quickly climbed the ladder of the corporate world, working in marketing communications for Cisco and then HP.  In a time where women were not as prominent in the workplace, Missy constantly demanded respect from colleagues and clients which allowed her to have a very successful career in the tech industry.

Missy was married to Blair Philp in 1990, and not long after had three children: Spencer, Pierce, and Meghan.  Missy’s children served as her biggest pride and joy, once they were born she left the corporate world to raise them while Blair began a golf business.  She was their #1 cheerleader whether it was at their basketball, lacrosse, dance or cheer competitions or helping them personally grow. She gave her children the greatest life anyone could ever desire. Missy had the largest heart and was full of compassion, constantly displaying what it means to be selfless.  She was passionate about volunteering and was on numerous PTA boards, Peninsula Volunteers and always a room-mom each year for all of her children. Missy was the “Dancing Queen” and loved to dance and to sing.  Every party needs a woman like Missy, she was an amazing hostess, cook and made everyone feel at home and always made sure people were singing and dancing.  She always had a smile on her face and touched everyone she met with her “joie de vivre.” Missy enjoyed fine wine and foods and to travel, especially going on cruises.  She visited many places and shared great memories with both her family and friends. Missy is survived by her three children, Mother, and Sister.  Friends and Family are invited to a celebration of life at 11540 Old Ranch Lane, Los altos CA on November 12th from 5:30-8:30.  In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to Peninsula Volunteers or Pediatric Congenital Heart Association.

The Town Crier's obituary publishing rates are $3 per line with a minimum charge of $50.  Photos may be included at $40 per photo (in addition to the $50.00 minimum charge).
