Barbara Benn

OBIT Barbara BennOur beloved Barbara has passed away. Born in San Francisco to Russian Emigrants, William and Nellie Daniloff. Barbara attended Mountain View High School and started her restaurant career at Clark’s Burgers in Mountain View. In 1970, her family moved to West Point, California. Barbara and her sister Elsie ran two successful Gold Country restaurants, the dining room at Mace Meadow Golf Course and the Creek Side Inn. She worked at Giannini’s Restaurant in Pine Grove as a bartender for nine years. Her customers loved Barbara. 

She is survived by her son David (Chris) granddaughters Leah and Rebecca, her daughter Julie (Mike, deceased) and her sisters Nancy Menacho of Sunnyvale, California, Tanya Johnson of Poulsbo, Washington, many nieces and nephews and her longtime partner, Wally Crane. She would have welcomed her first great-grandchild this summer. She was predeceased by her parents and her sisters Mary Jones, Ann Howland and Elsie Ilse. Barbara was a beautiful lady with a big heart. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.As Barbara would say at the end of every phone conversation, “Talk to you mañana.”The family requests donations are made to the Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson, CA.
