The morning of April 24, 2018, Roy Capaldo slipped the surly bonds of Earth.
Born June 29, 1932, Roy was husband to Judith for 38 short years before her 2003 passing; father of Kathryn (Kara), James and Sarah; father-in-law of Kara’s wife Gabrielle Dekock, James' wife Jocele, and Sarah's husband Matthew DeLorenzo; proud grandfather of five; brother of Ernest Capaldo of Golden CO, Marie May of Silverthorne CO, and Lee French of Golden CO; son of James and Magdalena Capaldo.
Roy was a USAF bomber pilot. Systems analyst. Accomplished woodworker. Hero. Builder. Confident and knowledgeable. He has flown faster than you. He sacrificed for family. He spoke lovingly of flying. Roy lost his tether when Judy died. He is with her again.
His life of 85 years ended peacefully after a long struggle with heart disease. His family held his hands. The sky above the clouds was clear and blue. He dances the skies on laughter-silvered wings once more.
