OBIT JeanEdwards

13 May 1932 to 13 February 2018

San Jose

Bobbie “Jean” Dendy was Born May 13, 1932 in Gatesville, Texas, to Orville and Dollie Dendy. Jean passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California, after a brief battle and complication from Pneumonia.

While attending business college in Texas, she met and married Richard Edwards and moved to Arcadia, California in 1956. Jean and her then husband with their 2 children, Leslie (Phipps) and Bob, moved to Los Altos, CA. where Jean lived until she moved into an assisted living facility in Willow Glen, CA. Jean went to work at Eastman Kodak as a film print inspector, and worked there until her retirement. While at Eastman Kodak, Jean made several lifelong and dear friends that she loved and stayed in contact with until her passing. After retirement from Eastman Kodak, Jean worked for several years at the House of Lamps in downtown Los Altos.

She touched so many lives and will be remembered for her warm smile, southern hospitality, quick wit, and her unconditional love, friendship, and generosity. “What a sweet and charming woman” is the impression she left with everyone. She enjoyed music and dancing, playing cards, gardening, and animals, but most of all socializing and being a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death are her 2 sisters, Marjorie Hennick of Oklahoma and Doris Ross of Tennessee. Survivors include; her daughter Leslie Phipps (Kurt), her granddaughter Kelly Guerreiro (Matthew) of San Jose, CA, her son Robert Edwards (Marilyn) of Salem, OR, granddaughter Ashlee Edwards, Greely, CO, and grandson Jack Edwards, Eugene, OR, along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life event will be held in the next few months with friends and family to say our goodbyes and to spend time remembering the love, life, and laughter Jean brought to all of us.

She will be missed by her family, friends, and all that knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and extreme generosity. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Jean to your local SPCA.
