Age 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, November 8th at the Terraces retirement home in Los Altos.

Jerry was born October 27th 1929 in Brooklyn, New York. He spent his formative years in Northern New Jersey. Jerry served in the United States Army in 1952- 53, specializing in the interpretation of aerial reconnaissance photography.

After leaving the army he married Elizabeth Reaves in June of 1954. Jerry and Liz had two sons, David and Stephen. In 1969 the family resettled from New Jersey to Los Altos Hills where they lived for 47 years.

As a young man, Jerry excelled in a career in professional sales, eventually rising to the executive ranks as Vice President of Marketing for International Video Corporation. In the late 1970s, Jerry left corporate life and founded Centrex Electronics an electronics parts distributor in Silicon Valley that he developed into a successful business. He remained president until his retirement in 1992.

Jerry was a man of broad interests and intense intellectual curiosity. His major passions were classic music, history and travel. He could be always found listening to his favorite Puccini operas or reading substantial biographies on important figures. He was an irrepressible raconteur who had boundless love for his family and friends.

He is survived by Elizabeth his wife of 63 years; two sons David and Stephen; grandsons Matthew, William and Ryan; and his sister, Cynthia Cooney.
