Palo Alto resident, Richard Arthur Bogard, passed away peacefully on October 25th, surrounded by the love of his wife, Iris, and his four daughters, Cindy, Kim, Sheri and Lori. He was 79 years old and will be deeply missed.
Richard (Dick) was born in Omaha, Nebraska on Dec. 16, 1937. His adventurist spirit lured him to bring his then-wife, Judy, and 4 small girls out west in the 60s and they have remained in the Bay Area ever since. Dick’s early career was in computer sales before he devoted his time and money to helping those in need with a variety of causes and being deeply involved in the investment community.
Dick fell in love with his current wife, Iris Fraser, in the 90s and they have remained devoted to each other through many of their families’ milestones in the past 20 years. He will be sincerely missed by her, and their large combined family of 8 children and 12 grandchildren. Dick is also survived by 3 brothers and one sister, and was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Jerry.
A celebration of a life well lived will take place in December. Donations can be made in Dick’s honor to Stanford Children’s Fund at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital – a cause that was always close to his heart. (www.supportlpch.org).
