Age 79, a longtime resident and realtor of Los Altos, passed away on October 8th, 2017, after a short battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Norway, Inger married a Danish man, Poul Oxfeldt, in the United States 56 years ago. Together, they had two loving children, Elisabeth and Kjeld. Elisabeth, born and educated in California, has since moved to Norway, and is Professor of Scandinavian Literature at the University of Oslo. Kjeld, born in Norway and educated in California, lives in San Diego, and works for a genomic sequencer manufacturing company.
Inger and Poul have three grandchildren: Sara, Luke, and Dean.
Inger leaves behind immediate family in Norway; sister Turid and brother Egil.
If you recall Inger, she was fluent in her own INGRISH language, which was a delightful combination of Norwegian, Danish, and English.
Inger and Poul frequently and lovingly traveled together during their years together.
Inger wants to travel with Poul one more time. So, their last joint trip will include Inger's ash disbursements in the Pacific Ocean, coastal waters of Denmark, and the Oslo fjord in Norway.
Inger's family, in-laws, and friends will remember her and miss her deeply.
