October 14, 1929 – July 3, 2017
Jane was born in Detroit, Michigan. While attending Kalamazoo College she met Jim, her husband of 65 years. After helping put Jim through medical school, they moved to California and eventually settled in Los Altos where they raised 3 children.
With a witty, engaging personality, and an extraordinary amount of energy, Jane’s enthusiasm spilled over into everything she touched. She had exceptional artistic talent in many areas: floral designer, seamstress, interior designer and cook- to name a few. Jane and her business partner opened up a floral design shop called The Acorn, which was an immediate and huge success. Jane also was a volunteer as a floral designer for 25 years at Filoli in Woodside. In high demand, Jane opened a second business out of her home where she did wedding and event planning. She was always ahead of the curve with her design concepts.
Jane was also active as an El Camino Hospital Auxiliary member, and very much enjoyed her social connections at Los Altos Golf and Country Club, where she and Jim spent a lot of time.
Jane had an open mind and a HUGE heart. Her passing leaves a huge hole in ours. She will be remembered with love by her husband Jim, her 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her children always said, “She was tiny but mighty - a force to be reckoned with!”
