LORRAINE SMITH

OBIT Lorraine Smith

July 16, 1936 - February 19, 2017

Former long-time Los Altos resident Lorraine Smith passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Paso Robles on February 19, 2017, following complications from pulmonary fibrosis.

Lorraine was born and raised in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. She attended the exclusive Katherine Gibbs School in New York City before moving to Los Altos in 1968 with her husband Bob. A long-time contributor to the Los Altos community, Lorraine served as PTA President of Oak School, was a volunteer manager of the Peninsula Volunteers Turnabout Shop and a part-time administrative assistant with the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce.

Lorraine was loved by her family and many friends for her charm and gracious manner. She had an exceptional ability to engage others in conversation through her multiple interests, including politics, good wine, fashion and food. She was an avid 49’er fan and loyal supporter of Stanford Women’s Basketball.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she is survived by her son Brad, his wife Kate, her four grandchildren Mykayla, Tyler, Dillon, Amanda, great grandchild Jesse, and her brother Bob Odeane.

No services are planned. Donations in honor of Lorraine may be made to a charity of your choice.
