Eleanor L. Kendrick passed away peacefully at her home on March 4, 2014, in Los Altos Hills, with family by her side. Eleanor was born on July 29, 1936, to Gaines and Annie Lang, in Calhoun, Georgia.
She attended the University of Florida, majoring in biology, followed by graduate studies in mathematics and computer science at San Jose State University. Eleanor taught mathematics for many years at San Jose City College before her retirement three years ago. Eleanor and Buck have been very involved in their church, St. Luke’s Chapel in the Hills, as well as their previous church, Christ Episcopal Church. They have also been members of the Santa Clara Airmen’s Association, with whom they traveled extensively, and enjoyed many good friends and flying adventures.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of 57 years, Buck, by her sons, Del and his wife, Jackie, and Steve and his wife Carolyn; daughters Katherine Graham and her husband, Bob, and Cindy Stansbury and her husband, Tayloe, and her brother Larry Lang and his wife, Molly. She also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren: Jeff, Rachael, Sarah, Zach, Emily, Josh, Whitney, William, Elizabeth, Nora, Kensey, Laina, and Brooke. She is also survived by the widow of her brother Ben, Mary Lou Lang Nance, nieces Mary Catherine and Laura Beth, and nephew Ben. She is very missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Los Altos, on April 12, at 2 p.m.
