Bill was born in March of 1950 in New Mexico and moved as a child to Palo Alto, then to Los Altos in 1959. He attended Covington Junior High School and Chester F. Awalt High School, graduating in 1968. After graduation and two years of college, he served as a corpsman in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam in 1971–1972.
Upon honorable discharge, he returned to Foothill College and then attended UC Davis. He worked as a contract systems programmer on mainframe computers, traveling around the country in various positions, accompanied by his two favorite dogs.
Bill was at times serene and seemingly at peace and often impishly playful but he was always proudly cynical. He is survived by his mother Aileen, his 3 brothers – Michael, Steven and David, and his sister Megan and 6 nieces and nephews.
He died September 1, 2009 in Boulder, Colorado. He was a kind hearted person who will be fondly remembered.
