Elizabeth Wanda Brown Taylor passed June 16, 2013 of complications of cancer. She lived in Los Altos for her last 6 years. Betty was born in a mining town near Kellogg, Idaho on April 3, 1917. Upon the death of her father, she moved to California with her mother and attended Berkeley High and the University of California. In 1941 she married a forester, Jim Taylor, and moved with him to the mountains of California. They lived in many parts of the West as well as the Washington, DC area then retired to the California Gold Country. In 67 years of marriage they lived 27 places. They moved to Los Altos to be near daughter Patricia Files and son-in-law John. Betty loved to travel and enjoyed the New Hampshire wedding of granddaughter Jessica Squier and husband Robert and the San Clemente wedding of grandson Ben Files and wife Nikki. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held later in the year.

The Town Crier's obituary publishing rates are $3 per line with a minimum charge of $50.  Photos may be included at $40 per photo (in addition to the $50.00 minimum charge).
