Resident of Los Altos

Gordon Ansley was born February 28, 1924 in Palo Alto, California, the son of Homer and May Ansley. Gordon attended Los Altos Grammar School and Mountain View High School. He grew up on what is now the Shoup Park property in Los Altos, where he made many happy memories with his brother, Norman. He served in the army during World War II and then began his career with the Southern Pacific Railroad. It was at SP that Gordon met and married his wife, Joan Kitkoski. Gordon and Joan raised two children, Ron and Paula. They were married for 49 years when Joan passed away. Gordon retired from SP after 38 years, the General Manager of Freight Claims. Following retirement he worked for the American Arbitration Association. Gordon enjoyed playing golf, tennis and dominoes and was an avid Stanford fan. He was a serious stamp collector throughout his life. His father, Homer Ansley, was an artist, who instilled in him a love of art and art collecting. Family gatherings and holidays were

among his favorite times. Gordon will always be remembered for his gentle sense of humor and his carriage as a true gentleman. He will be missed by his many friends and most especially by his family. Gordon is survived by his wife Beverly Ansley, his daughter Paula and son-in-law Tom Beatty, son Ron and daughter-in-law Patti Ansley, grandchildren Stewart, Heather, Grayson, Jaclyn Beatty, Brenna and Natalie Ansley, and his great-grand-daughter, Laurel Joan Beatty.

A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Los Altos on October 21st at 1:00 pm.
