Notewothy: Pathways honors LAH resident


Pathways Home Health & Hospice is scheduled to honor Los Altos Hills resident Diana R. Russell, MSN, RN, former chief clinical operations and chief nursing officer at El Camino Hospital, with its Leadership in Healthcare Award.

Russell will receive the award at the 27th annual “One from the Heart” awards breakfast Oct. 26 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Palo Alto.

Noteworthy: LA civil engineer wins award


City of Los Altos senior civil engineer Aida Fairman last month received the Outstanding Civil Engineer in the Public Sector award from the American Society of Civil Engineers’ San Francisco Chapter.

The society recognized Fairman, nominated by her peers, for outstanding engineering achievement, with consideration given to engineers who made a significant impact in the field of civil engineering. Such impact may be through professional activities, ASCE involvement, research and innovative engineering solutions.

Scouting News: Troop 37 honors new Eagle Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 37 of Los Altos conducted its Eagle Court of Honor ceremony for four new Eagle Scouts Aug. 5.

The Eagle Scout designation is the highest rank in Scouting. To earn the Eagle rank, Scouts must complete a community service project.

Three Troop 31 Boy Scouts celebrated earning their Eagle Scout ranks at a Court of Honor ceremony Sept. 17.

At the ceremony, Scouts Daniel Frees, Ryan Ghosh and Peyton Marlett – all seniors at Mountain View High School – thanked dozens of people who helped them reach their goals and supported them through more than a decade of Scouting together.
