Los Altos Boy Scout Troop 33 honored six new Eagle Scouts at a ceremony Jan. 5.

The new Eagle Scouts and their projects:

• Peter Arnold, a senior at Los Altos High School, designed and directed an eight-person team in building and painting a raised wood deck with an integrated desk to hold the timing and scoreboard equipment for water polo games and swim meets at Los Altos High.

• Justin Cai, a senior at Bellarmine College Preparatory, mapped the distribution of invasive weeds in McClellan Ranch Preserve as a benchmark for removal and habitat restoration efforts and provided the data to the city of Cupertino.

• Charles Crane, now a freshman at UC Santa Barbara, turned a practice field for the MVLA Girls Softball League into a game-ready field. Work included cleaning, aerating and weeding the field; spreading 10 tons of new dirt; and building a shed to store equipment.

• Jamison DeAngelis, a freshman at Mountain View High School, designed and built a 14-foot-by-10-foot redwood pergola shade structure to create a reflection area on the grounds of St. Simon Catholic Parish.

• Kolby Pham, a graduate of Los Altos High School, organized and taught technology and privacy seminars at The Terraces at Los Altos senior living community.

• Andrew Showalter, a senior at St. Francis High School, created two outdoor Jenga games and two custom outdoor game boards made to fit St. Andrew’s Episcopal School’s outdoor picnic tables. The project was designed to give students other options during recess, lunch and after school.
