Scouting News: Troop 37 recognizes new Eagle Scouts

 

Los Altos Boy Scout Troop 37 recently honored three members for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest distinction in Boy Scouts. To receive the Eagle rank, Scouts must earn at least 21 merit badges, hold leadership positions and complete a community service project.

The new Eagle Scouts and their projects:

• Gurshaan Arora refurbished and restored wooden tables and benches at Santa Rita School. He held the leadership positions of senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, troop guide and patrol leader. He is a senior at Los Altos High School.

• Peter Jensen constructed and installed screech-owl boxes at McClellan Ranch in Cupertino. He held the leadership positions of assistant senior patrol leader and den chief. He graduated from Los Altos High and is currently taking a gap year.

• Kamran Pakravan landscaped the grounds around The Cradle of Liberty statue in Shoup Park for the 2018 Fourth of July celebration and the statue’s 20th anniversary. He held the leadership positions of assistant senior patrol leader, troop guide, patrol leader and bugler. He is a senior at Mountain View High.
