Scouting News: Troop 80 honors new Eagle Scout

Fitch

Local Boy Scout Troop 80 recently honored its latest Eagle Scout, Will Fitch.

Fitch was a Cub Scout in Pack 105 before he joined Troop 80. As a Scout, he backpacked, rock climbed and canoed throughout California, and camped out more than 175 nights. He served as patrol leader for four terms and as senior patrol leader for three terms.

For his Eagle project, Fitch coordinated the fabrication, assembly and installation of more than 50 signs at a youth leadership camp.

A senior at Mountain View High School, Fitch plans to study math, computer science or political science in college.

Troop 80 meets Monday nights at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Miramonte Avenue and Cuesta Drive in Mountain View. The troop is open to youth interested in spending time outdoors.
