The Los Altos-based Sempervirens Fund recently hired Shelley Ratay as deputy executive director to expand the land trust’s work protecting and connecting the local redwood forests between Silicon Valley and the Pacific Ocean.
Ratay will focus on land protection, general management and fundraising on behalf of the organization.
Ratay, a Palo Alto resident, has more than 10 years of land acquisition and development experience. She has worked for Conservation International, The Trust for Public Land, First Community Housing and Beartooth Capital. She earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Brown University and a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University.
