Reader preaches tolerance
Regarding John Stephan’s letter (“God established moral guidelines” March 13):
I doubt that the Bible says that we should be intolerant to homosexuals and their need, like all of us, to seek understanding.
There are many combinations that evolve from paired DNAs, including Stephan not being a woman and no two faces looking alike. Stephan broadly relies upon the multitranslated Christian Bible, except “Judge not lest ye be judged.”
Liberals to blame for rash of burglaries
In Myra Orta’s March 13 letter, “LA should ramp up crime prevention efforts,” she calls for more police support in south Los Altos. I, too, am a resident of south Los Altos and agree we have a crime problem, and certainly want less crime.
However, a great deal of the problem can be attributed to the liberals now in charge of the entire local and state governments and their support for sanctuary cities, support for illegal immigration, early release of criminals, no bail for “petty” crimes, lowering certain penalties to mere citations (that are most often ignored), voting into office liberal judges who won’t enforce laws or make up their own, and support for legalizing marijuana, just to mention a few. These policies allow criminals to roam the streets at will. The police will not make certain arrests because they know the perpetrators will be released back on the streets within minutes of being taken to jail.
Based on the previous letters Orta has written, she supports these policies and is now reaping the results of her liberal mentality. Until liberals get their collective heads out of the clouds and regain the common sense most of them presumably were born with, this problem will only become worse, despite the plaintive calls from the besieged liberals for more police protection, another police station, more patrols, etc.
