Regarding “Downtown library would be a bold move” (Letters to the Editor, June 7): No city funds should pay for this. If some Silicon Valley fat cat wants to finance this, fine, but taxpayers already contribute to the library. – Steve Ly

Regarding “Standing up for safe school routes” by Yolanda Spura (June 7): Thank you, Yolanda, for this balanced article. I appreciate that you went out and witnessed the dangerous intersections first hand. – Debbie Crouse

Regarding “Beloved Los Altos parrot finds a San Jose roost” (June 7): We are all so excited that Lulu is now part of our family. My daughters, 4.5 and almost 11, are so in love with their new “cousin” and visit her every day. But who Lulu loves the most is our dad.

The most we love about Lulu is that when we laugh, she imitates and laughs with us. My brother, Amir Behboud, is the best owner any pet could ever have, and Lulu is in a home where she gets lots of love and attention. – Bahar
