Merry Lee Richardson Eilers and Donald Avery Berglund were married April 1 at Christ Episcopal Church in Los Altos. The Rev. Claire Ranna officiated. A reception followed in the parish hall.

The bride is the daughter of Charles P. and Margaret J. Richardson (both deceased). She graduated from Palo Alto High School and attended Foothill College.

Kristy Charron and Riley Quinlan have announced their engagement to be married in June at St. Michael Church in Pleasanton. The Rev. Gerald T. Wade, S.J., of Bellarmine College Preparatory will officiate.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steve and Cari Charron of San Jose. She graduated from Presentation High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas Christian University. She works as a real estate agent at Modtown Realty in Dallas, Texas.

Abby Damm and Kevin Conner were married June 3 at Holbrook-Palmer Park in Atherton.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Althoff and Jack Damm of Los Altos Hills. She graduated from Mountain View High School and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University. She is employed as a marketing analyst at Google Inc.

Amy Judd and Johnny Roberts were married June 10 in Mercer Island, Wash. A reception at the Mercer Island Beach Club followed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jayne and Chris Judd of Mercer Island. She graduated from Mercer Island High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Seattle University. She is employed at CFI Franciscan Health.

Anniversary: Juanita and Harold Nissley, 60 years

Juanita and Harold (Hal) Nissley


Juanita and Harold (Hal) Nissley of Los Altos Hills celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 10.

Hal delivered The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper in Ohio for four years after World War II. During his senior year at Cleveland Heights High School, he worked 40-48 hours per week at Chase Brass. He graduated in 1953 and attended college for two years. He joined the Air Force in 1956 and was a student in the Keesler Air Force flying club. Upon receiving his night-flying license, he and Juanita flew over the Gulf of Mexico, viewing the lights of New Orleans before turning east to Biloxi. Juanita fell in love with the flight and the pilot. The couple enjoyed a summer of weekends flying to Alabama, Florida and Louisiana, and then visited his parents in Cleveland. They were married in Biloxi, Miss., in 1957.
