Merry Lee Richardson Eilers and Donald Avery Berglund were married April 1 at Christ Episcopal Church in Los Altos. The Rev. Claire Ranna officiated. A reception followed in the parish hall.
The bride is the daughter of Charles P. and Margaret J. Richardson (both deceased). She graduated from Palo Alto High School and attended Foothill College.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology and a master’s in anthropology from Stanford University.
She was employed as an information specialist at the Stanford Geriatric Education Center before retiring.
The groom is the son of Henry L. and Emma D. Berglund (both deceased). He graduated from Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, N.J. He earned a bachelor’s degree in naval engineering from Princeton University, a bachelor’s in business from Colorado University and a Master of Business Administration from UC Berkeley.
He was employed at Lockheed Corp. in the subcontract management department before retiring.
The bride’s five daughters – Ann Leslie Eilers, Wendy Lee Eilers, Meredyth Lynn Young, Robyn Louise Duby and Beth Lincoln – served as bridesmaids.
The groom’s three sons – Gregory George Berglund, Steven David Berglund and James Allen Berglund – served as grooms-men.
Both widowed, the bride and groom met in 2015 at The Forum retirement community in Cupertino, where they continue to live.
