Juanita and Harold (Hal) Nissley
Juanita and Harold (Hal) Nissley of Los Altos Hills celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 10.
Hal delivered The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper in Ohio for four years after World War II. During his senior year at Cleveland Heights High School, he worked 40-48 hours per week at Chase Brass. He graduated in 1953 and attended college for two years. He joined the Air Force in 1956 and was a student in the Keesler Air Force flying club. Upon receiving his night-flying license, he and Juanita flew over the Gulf of Mexico, viewing the lights of New Orleans before turning east to Biloxi. Juanita fell in love with the flight and the pilot. The couple enjoyed a summer of weekends flying to Alabama, Florida and Louisiana, and then visited his parents in Cleveland. They were married in Biloxi, Miss., in 1957.
