Remembered as a loving Mom, Grandmother & Great grandmother, who was also a familiar face in Los Altos & Mountain View. Margaret passed away Tuesday, August 3rd in Sunnyvale. She was born in Petaluma, CA in 1924. She lived there until she attended nursing school in San Francisco during wartime. She & husband Harry owned & operated Peterson Brake & Wheel in Los Altos. She was a nurse, Girl Scout leader, Environmental Volunteer in schools and volunteered with many other local charities. Margaret was an accomplished artist. She painted, did wood carvings, pine needle baskets and most remembered for her hundreds of “quilts for kids” with her best friends.

She lost her husband of 59 years Harry in 2007. Margaret is survived by daughters Linda Cole (Paul), Carol Haley (Tim) and son Dennis Peterson (Lupe), 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, plus family in Petaluma, Grass Valley, the Seattle area, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Australia.

Margaret’s life was celebrated at a private family gathering.
