Bus Barn Stage Company’s production of Sarah Ruhl’s “The Clean House” is scheduled to run through June 16 in Los Altos.
The Pulitzer Prize-nominated comedy is for mature audiences.
Set in a metaphysical Connecticut, the play begins by introducing Lane and Charles, married doctors in need of care for their house and hearts. Lane hires Matilde, a young Brazilian woman who has come to the United States to escape her past and obsessed with finding the perfect joke. As the couple’s marriage falls apart, Matilde finds herself in the middle of the crisis.
Directed by Jeanie K. Smith, Bus Barn’s production features Leslie Breton, Monica Cappuccini, Sondra Putnam, Carolyn Ford Compton and Steve Lambert.
Performances are slated 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sunday, 7 p.m. June 10, and 7:30 p.m. June 6 and 13 at the Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave.
