PYT production of 'Peter Pan' flies away after Sunday's matinee in Mountain View

Peninsula Youth Theatre’s production of “Peter Pan” is set to close Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

Wendy, Michael and John take a magical trip to Neverland to face scoundrel Captain Hook in the classic fairy tale about the boy who won’t grow up. The production features an updated script but still includes all of the original songs.

New musical features pair of local young actors

Two Los Altos residents have been cast in a new musical slated to debut this weekend in Mountain View.

Teens Adam Fallick and Ellie Lucas are featured in the Young Actors’ Theatre Camp production of “Hell on Earth: A New Musical,” slated to open Friday and run through Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

Palo Alto Players continues its season with “A Christmas Story, The Musical,” the 2013 Tony Award-nominated musical based on the popular 1983 film that follows a 9-year-old boy as he schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams.

“Story” is set to run through Nov. 24 at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. Janie Scott directs.

Albany Consort performs Saturday in Los Altos

The Albany Consort presents “From Chaos to the Sublime,” a concert scheduled 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Los Altos Lutheran Church, 460 S El Monte Ave.

The program includes works by Bach, Jean-Fery Rebel, Henry Purcell and Georg Muffat.

Nonprofit Arts/SV launches Hidden Gem Series Saturday

The Hidden Gems Series, which aims to be a quarterly event to showcase the best performing arts talents in Silicon Valley, is scheduled to kick off 3 p.m. Saturday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

The new series is part of the year-round Arts/SV360 initiative created by Silicon Valley-based nonprofit Arts/SV. The year-old organization develops programs to support performing artists locally and internationally, and also presents, produces and sponsors events.
