LA Stage Co.'s 'Pippen' continues through June 24

Los Altos Stage Company’s production of the Broadway hit “Pippin” is scheduled to run through June 24.

Young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power. In the end, however, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the simple moments that happen every day.

PA Players offers 'Dinner' through July 1 in PA

Palo Alto Players concludes its 2017-2018 season with the American comedy “The Man Who Came to Dinner” by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. Performances are scheduled Friday through July 1 at the Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.

Set in the 1930s, the show follows radio personality Sheridan Whiteside, who falls and injures himself outside the Stanley residence. As he recuperates, Sheridan wreaks havoc on the lives of everyone he comes into contact with. He invites ex-convicts to meals, makes phone calls resulting in a $784 bill, puts penguins in the library, has an octopus live in the cellar and allows 10,000 cockroaches to take over the kitchen.

Foothill's 'Dream' comes to an end Sunday in Los Altos Hills

The Foothill College Theatre Arts production of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is slated to close Sunday in Los Altos Hills.

The comedy portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta, the former queen of the Amazons.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley’s California premiere of “Finks,” a comic drama based on the true story of comedian/actor Jack Gilford, is slated to open this week in Mountain View.

With the 1950s Red Scare in full swing, the House Un-American Activities Committee attacks “subversion” in the arts. When a romance blossoms between rising comic Mickey and firebrand actress Natalie, they face being blacklisted along with their friends and fellow artists. Written by Gilford’s son, playwright/screenwriter Joe Gilford, the play is the story of targeted individuals in the entertainment industry suddenly faced with losing their careers or being branded as “finks.”
