Mountain View’s Peninsula Youth Theatre this weekend premieres “How NOT to Survive a Monster Attack,” an original play written by teen playwright Sagnik Nag Chowdhury that will be video-streamed.

When the citizens of Greater Queenshampton hear alien monsters are going to attack, they run to the nearest (and newest) store to stock up. But can they find a way to stop the aliens in their tracks on the shelves of Fractional Foods?

“Some of my characters are based on friends and people I know, but I wanted to incorporate real situations we’ve all been facing in quarantine, so those are definitely in the show,” the 14-year-old science-fiction fan said. “There is something for everyone to relate to, regardless of your age. You’ll have a good laugh, that’s for sure.”

Directed by Caitlyn DeRouin, the video-streamed performance is available for viewing 7:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday.

Streaming access is $15.
