Pear Theatre’s short-play showcase opens Friday

Mountain View’s Pear Theatre presents “Pear Slices 2021” online Friday through May 23.The 18th annual short-play showcase offers a selection of original works from the members of the Pear Playwrights Guild.
Co-directed by Troy Johnson and Melinda Marks, the vignettes will be presented as a filmed-live video.

Performed by a single cast, the plays range from dramatic to comical, adversarial to romantic.

Plays include Matthew Fyffe’s “A Stable Family,” Leah Halper’s “Yes Yes Maybe” and “Hello Heriberto,” Carol Wolf’s “Don’t Let Go,” Bridgette Dutta Portman’s “Wheel of Fortuna,” Meghan Maugeri’s “Power(less) Pete,” Barbara Anderson’s “Sequestered” and Peggy Powell’s “Roadside Attraction” and “Keepsake.”

The “Pear Slices” cast features Maya Greenberg, Gaz Jemeel, Asha Kelly, Justin P. Lopez, Francheska Johanna Loy and Francisco Rodriguez. Kelly Weber Barraza serves as stage manager, Pati Bristow provides costumes and Ben Hemmen is in charge of lighting.
