Los Altos Stage Company continues its virtual mini season – featuring three, one-actor plays – with “Ann,” scheduled to be livestreamed this weekend and next.
“Ann” is a comedic tribute to former Texas Gov. Ann Richards, known for her wit and passion for fair play. Described as neither partisan nor political, the imagined play by Holland Taylor aims to reveal a complex and colorful character. It delves into Richards’ skills as a leader, along with her dedication to being a mother and a loving grandmother.
Judith Miller plays Richards and Gary Landis directs.
“Ann” will be performed live at the Bus Barn Theatre, following all required protocol and with the consent of Santa Clara County, according to managing director Ed Sengstack. In a press release, he said the play “will include all the bells and whistles of a fully designed production.” Livestreamed with five cameras, “Ann” will be staged on a newly-constructed set, with lighting, sound, props and costuming.
Performances are slated 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Jan. 31.
Tickets are $20 per device.
