Pioneering aviator Jerrie Cobb (Sarah Mitchell, center) is surrounded by curious public, press and colleagues (Luisa Sermol, from left, Dan Hiatt, Anthony Fusco, Stacy Ross and Craig Marker) in TheatreWorks Silicon Valley’s “They Promised Her the Moon.” The theater company is streaming the show for ticketholders.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley has found an innovative way to enable its patrons to safely watch its recently canceled production – from the comfort of their homes.

TheatreWorks recently announced it will stream Laurel Ollstein’s “They Promised Her the Moon” for ticketholders and the general public. The live show was canceled after the opening weekend due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Patrons who purchased tickets to the Northern California premiere of “They Promised Her the Moon” will receive an email with a link to stream. Others who want to stream the show for a pay-what-you-will ticket price can purchase access through Monday. The link to watch it will remain live through April 12.

Telling the true story of world record-holding aviator Jerrie Cobb – who was selected as the first female astronaut candidate and fought to fly among the stars – “They Promised Her the Moon” was originally slated to run through this weekend at the Lucie Stern Theater in Palo Alto.
