Alli Gessner, left, and James Brinkman of Floboe Productions Studio are slated to perform a free show Saturday night at the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View.

The Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View this weekend presents “Latin American Vacation,” a new performance by Floboe Productions Studio.

Floboe’s performing arts duo of Alli Gessner (oboe) and James Brinkman (flute) are set to take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Tateuchi Hall at CSMA, 230 San Antonio Circle. Admission is free.

“Floboe” refers to the blended, simultaneous playing of a flute and an oboe.

In the performance, a flutist and an oboist take their YouTube followers (the audience) with them on a trip to make a viral video as they explore Central and South American music. Along the way, the duo has to maneuver through tricky travel mishaps and musical calamity to find their groove.

Floboe’s last performance at CSMA, June’s “Concerto for Frenemies,” was a hit with audiences, according to school offi-cials.

Gessner is a Sunnyvale resident.
