The Wise Owl Players take part in a recent rehearsal. The 50-and-over acting troupe’s next production – titled “Deleted.” – is slated to run Saturday and Sunday in downtown Mountain View.

The Wise Owl Players is set to present “Deleted.” Saturday and Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

Written by Los Altos resident and former children’s librarian Enid Davis, “Deleted.” details the lives of fictional characters deleted from their authors’ manuscripts. The abandoned figures come together in an emotional support group, resulting in a comedic murder-mystery tale.

The Wise Owl Players is an acting troupe comprised of adults 50 and over who perform dramatized staged readings. The Palo Alto-based nonprofit Avenidas sponsors the program, which offers drama classes for older adults – including storytelling and creative writing – taught by Davis.

The Wise Owl Players previously presented George Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” adapted by Ian Wooldridge.

Performances of “Deleted.” are scheduled 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $16; children under age 5 will not be admitted.
